Things To Do In Newcastle upon Tyne

Coming to Newcastle for the weekend or the Made Up North Market?

I thought it was about time I shared some of my favourite places to eat, drink and wander around and give you some inspiration for a little trip of your own or if your local maybe you haven't tried one of them yet.

By The River Brew Co.

By The River Brew
.

An independent container village on the Gateshead side of the river with the best views of the iconic Tyne Bridge. You’ll find a Brewery & tap room, Trakol (An Open Fire Kitchen), The Backyard Bikeshop, A coffee house and Covert cocktail bar plus a really great selection of Street food vendors. By The River Brew has a combination of indoor and outdoor space which means it’s dog friendly too which is why I love it so much!

BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art

Baltic Museum and Millenium Bridge
.

For all the Art & Gallery lovers, you can spend a few hours mooching around the Baltic Museum with several different floors, a roof deck, cafe or for something slightly fancier book their SIX restauraunt, oh and the museum is FREE. Also located on the Gateshead side of the River you can cross the Millennium Bridge to the Newcastle quayside and if you time it right you can watch the bridge move to let the boats pass.

Jesmond Dene

Jesmond Dene Waterfall

If you fancy some urban greenery, head to Jesmond Dene, A wooded valley, it’s a lovely destination for a walk and you can follow the river to a waterfall. If your visit is a family affair, then Jesmond Dene is a great location with a Pet’s Corner that’s Free to enter, large open spaces if you need dog friendly, a playground, café and visitor centre.
