Upcycling & Repurposing

What is Upcycling?

Upcycling is the activity of redesigning an item that would be considered as waste and transforming it into something else by using the existing material in creative ways giving it new life and added value.

Why have we chosen upcycling as one of our principles?

  • Upcycling gives us the ability to turn waste into something valuable

  • We love the creative process to designing upcycled products and the challenges it brings.

  • Upcycling has a very low impact on the environment.

What upcycled products have we produced?

Our signature ruffle shirts that customers love, including Mary Portas plus you can find our holiday ready Scrunchie Handle Bags this S/S.

What is Repurposing?

Repurposing is using something for a purpose other than its original intended use. This can be done by modifying it to fit a new use, or by using the item as is but in a new way e.g. Using a tin as a stationary holder. In our case the repurposing comes from our use of fabric, for repurposed products we use remnant or our own off cuts from other projects, we transform them into new designs and therefore are able to use them in ways they weren’t originally intended for.

Why have we chosen Repurposing as one of our principles?

  • Helps reduce waste in our own business.

  • Utilising fabrics that are already in the environment saving them from landfill.

  • Less use of new resources.

What repurposing products have we produced?

Many of our Homeware designs are repurposed from Vintage, deadstock or our own off cuts.
